Are you purchasing
your first bike? I suggest that you take a look at
used
Yamaha
motorcycles.
As you learn riding techniques, it is very
likely that you are going to have some crashes. If you buy a used bike,
you won’t be so heart-broken when this happens. You
won’t be upset over an expensive, new, ruined bike.
Buying used motorcycles makes a lot of sense
to me, since it is statistically proven that new riders crash more
often.
If you choose not to go with a used bike,
you will want to take some considerations to mind before going to your
local dealer.
First off, it is better to buy in the
winter. Prices will be lower. You can also catch good promotions and
payment options if you are patient.
Purchasing used Yamaha motorcycles online
isn’t a good idea, unless you are personally able to inspect
it and possibly test drive it.
I think it is better to buy from ads in the
paper. However, the same principle applies – you need to
check it out and ride it if possible.
Buying from a dealer can be easier, in the
sense that they can deliver it to you with an extra charge. If you
aren’t having it delivered, make sure you have something to
transport it with. You will also want some help to load and unload it.
Just make sure you take some time to plan ahead.
Before I could pick up my bike from the
dealer, I had to show proof of insurance (even though I was hauling
it). You will just have to check with your state’s laws.
If you are a first-time bike buyer, I
suggest that you find a bike that isn’t too large or too
powerful. Buying something like this for a first bike may make this
bike purchase your last. However, if you have respect for you bike and
understand your own limits, you could be okay.
More than anything, I suggest that you buy
used Yamaha motorcycles. They are usually medium-sized bikes with lower
horsepower. That way, you will be able to control it better, and if you
do wreck it, you won’t be throwing away a lot of money.
